Throughout every day, I whisper my secret prayer: God bless gay people.
From the Amazon listing
Every Sunday I sat in church in Owerri and sang the hymns. To my family I was the good Christian son. Inside, I was praying a prayer nobody around me would have allowed: God bless gay people.
This book is about the years of hiding, about sermons that called me an abomination, about watching friends fall in love while I stayed alone, and about what happens to a person in a country where three honest words can cost him fourteen years in prison, his family and his home.
It is the shortest of my books and the one closest to my heart. If you only ever read one thing I have written, read this.

Who this book is for
For every gay Nigerian who has ever prayed to be changed, for every parent who has ever slammed a door, and for every pastor who has never asked what his words do to the boy in the third pew.
Where the money goes
Money from the books pays for the support line: airtime for the volunteers, and small emergency payments to LGBT+ Nigerians who need a night somewhere safe, a bus fare out of a dangerous town, or a clinic visit. If you would rather give directly, use the Buy Me a Coffee page.
